Mike, I am on record for citing AWE (the complete video) as one of your very best. This one is also excellent for very different reasons. And to think that you produced them with such basic equipment is beyond! Was it Emerson who wrote of “hitching your wagon to a star”? You obviously picked the right one with these gems.

This is just what our human conditions need right now, to remind us we too are part of that wondrous universe

Stars are "luminous spheroids of plasma held together by self-gravity." UGH!! That soul less definition, while scientifically accurate tells us nothing about the beauty, the awe, the mystery of stars. How we experience stars borders on the mystical. And so , as I watched, I heard running through my head the lyrics from the musical Les Miserables: "Stars in your multitudes/ Scarce to be counted/Filling the darkness/With order and light/You are the sentinels/Silent and sure/Keeping watch in the night/Keeping watch in the night.

I could watch this video over and over. What an inspiring, stunning, awesome experience this must have been. Also, I am so grateful for drone photography and how it has enhanced our appreciation for the wondrous beauty of nature's landscapes.

Thank you, once again, Mike.

For me, there aren't many places on this planet more beautiful than southern Utah. I've seen that sky...sticks with you forever, eh? Also liked how totally invested the crew was.

The Coober Pedy story would've been fun to shoot with the white boy in a hole
